Welcome to GUITAR Gaming’s first review. It is with great honor that I select Mini-Dungeon Tome as our inaugural product. I bought this as one of my first Roll20 adventure purchases. This set of 9 adventures can easily be played in 3 hours, making these perfect one-shots for that random or pickup game.

The first thing that is notable is the price. For $8.99 (at the time of this review) you get 9 really good maps that are worth a dollar a piece. I have reused these maps for plenty of other things. They have all the dynamic lighting stuff baked in, and some of these maps have rounded sections. We all know what a pain it is to draw walls around those.

Mini-Dungeon Tomes are sold in packages by the player level. So all of the one-shots are geared towards that level. Where this might be limited is in having to scale the rest of the adventures for a party if they level up. These are not going to be the best campaign adventures to try to tie together from one package. I have purchased these all the way through MDT 5. When you get to the higher level games, you will be able to run 2-3 of them before they level, even more when you get to the 4th level and up adventures.

Along with the maps and adventures, you get more than 40 ring tokens with these games, that are usually associated with the 40+ monsters and NPCs they provide. Get two or three of these and you will have a well stocked monster pool for less than that particular unnamed manual.

Some notable adventures from MDT 1:

“The Goblin Warren” (MDT 1) A solid one-shot dealing with a fun and manipulative quasit.

“The Spinner’s Hole” (MDT 1) This is a TPK adventure if they are not careful. So much fun.

“The Aura of Profit” (MDT 1) Fritz is a mad alchemist who is messing up the sewers. Fritz became a regular NPC in a lot of our campaigns.

“Pit Your Wits” (MDT 1) Something from outer space has crashed into a mine. How could this possibly be a bad thing?

I cannot recommend Mini Dungeon Tomes enough for all of your one-shot needs. I have run these games for hundreds of players and we have always had a good time with them. DMs, you can read and run this within 30 minutes. It is definitely worth the price. 5/5
